Mother’s Day has come and gone — it’s time to think about our Father’s Day cards. I have a great stamp set for you — Best Catch and there’s coordinating framelits to help cut out the pieces. I had a blast with this set and it definitely makes me think of my dad and my father-in-law.
When I was growing up, we went up to Hurley, Wisconsin almost every weekend in the summer to fish. My dad would get up really early and go out in the boat fishing as the sun came up. He would fish until mid-morning and then come back to the campground for the day. He would take the rest of us out in the boat in late afternoon to fish. We have some great family memories from these trips.
I kept my color palette simply with Night of Navy and Sahara Sand. The Crackle background stamp gave me that worn pier look. Don’t you love the fishing hat and basket — the framelits make it quick and easy to cut these out.
So good to see folks coming out with more cards for men as they are not as plentiful where as it’s so easy to make cards for the female gender with flowers, ribbons etc. This is a super card and you did a great job putting it tog.
Thanks Marlene — it was a fun card to make
