Cabin Fever 2023 – Lighting the Way Fun Folds
Last Saturday was my Cabin Fever 2023 and it was so much fun.
The first project featured the Lighting the Way Bundle and we made fun fold cards.
I was so busy and having so much fun that I forgot to take pictures during the day, but that is kind of a good thing, don’t you think?
Everyone received a collapsible bin with their projects inside along with the Light the Way stamp set, a pop up trash can and a sheet of Dimensionals.
The baby wipes had a cute belly band and their name and
I set it at their table so everyone could find their spot.
Here is the adorable collapsible polka dot trash can. This definitely says Spring is coming!!
I found these collapsible bins at Dollar Tree that held all the supplies.
There were three different colors — pink, Coastal Cabana and Basic Gray.
Look at all the goodies inside.
Here is the first project!
A set of four fun fold cards that used the Regency Park Designer Paper.
Everyone received one quarter of the package of paper to use on other projects.
They also received a package of Champagne Rhinestones to add some bling to their cards.
The first card is a double z fun fold with lots of fireflies floating around.
I love the second card — it holds a tea light candle behind the lantern
and it really glows.
Card #3 is a tri-fold easel card. So much fun and very springy.
The Medium Daisy Punch is on the Last Chance List which is a little sad.
I don’t know what to call this final card — kind of a twist fold but oh so fun to do!!
It starts out horizontal and ends up vertical when you open the card – how cool is that!!

I am intrigued by that last card, the fun fold that turns from horizontal to vertical, how did you do it? Do you have directions? I’d like to try this fold. All your cards are great and it looks like a fun event.
Hi Carol,
It was a fun card to make. I saw someone else’s version while searching for fun folds — sorry I don’t remember now who it was. Here are the directions.
1. Fold Night of Navy card base on score lines – in half, then fold diagonal score up
2. Adhere 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ Night of Navy to the folded up triangle – looks like a regular horizontal card until card is opened, then it become a vertical card (long and skinny)
3. Stamp leaf stems on 4” x 5 1/4” Basic White with Mossy Meadow ink stamped off
4. Stamp 1 medium and 2 small fireflies with Night of Navy ink
5. Stamp “glow” circles with Crushed Curry stamped off
6. Adhere to inside of card
7. Adhere 1” x 4” Crushed Curry Designer Paper above Basic White
8. Close card — adhere second 1” x 4” Designer Paper on left side of card front
9. Die cut Night of Navy lantern
10. Stamp greeting with Night of Navy ink in top left of 3 3/4″ Basic White
11. Stamp star streams and “glow” circles with Crushed Curry ink – stamp largest circle where lantern will be added – use Blending Brush to add little Crushed Curry around circle
12. Adhere embossed strip of Smoky Slate to bottom
13. Adhere Vellum to lantern – trim away excess – attach to card front with Dimensionals
14. Stamp one of each size firefly with Night of Navy ink on 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ Basic White
15. Stamp “glow” with Crushed Curry ink – die cut and attach to card front with Dimensionals
16. Tie small bow in Linen Thread – add to lantern with Mini Glue Dot – Add Rhinestones
I would love to know how you made the card with the tealight candle. Do you have a written or video tutorial for it?
