It’s Time For Holiday Catalog Sneak Peeks

The Holiday Catalog starts in just a week and a half – WOOHOO!!!.  It’s time for some sneak peeks, don’t you think?

After the Alaskan Cruise Incentive Trip, I participated in a swap using Holiday Catalog items we received while on the cruise.  The cards I received were fabulous so while I’m working on some upcoming events, I thought it was time to share some of these great ideas to get you warmed up and ready for September 5th.

The Many Blessings stamp set which was one of the prize patrols given out.  This set was designed by Ruth Snyder when she hit one million dollars in sales.  It’s a great set that covers fall and Christmas very well.

This card was from Sheri Caspers — I love the pot of sunflowers which definitely says fall to me.  Sheri used the Tranquil Textures designer paper along with the new 1/4″ Tranquil Tide Velvet Ribbon — so soft and luxurious.  She tucked some leaves behind the circle layers for a little more dimension.

Sympathy String Art Calla Lily

One last string art card for you.  Calla Lily flowers are so pretty — they have a calming effect to them.  Many sympathy floral arrangements have these flowers in them.  I think the string art flowers look a bit like a calla lil flower.  This image on this card looks like a calla lily to me so I added With Sympathy greeting.

I love how this card turned out.  I used Whisper White and Gray Granite to keep the soft look for a sympathy card.

Hand Made Cards / Sympathy

Just a Friendly Hello

This was one of my favorite string art cards.  Did you know that you can use more than one color ink refill with this technique?  Yup, you can — for this card we dipped some of the Baker’s Twine in Gorgeous Grape and the other portion in Granny Apple Green, then lay the string down on Whisper White cardstock in whatever pattern you like, lay another piece over it, placed in an old book, apply pressure and pull the string.  Viola, you have a flower and the stem – LOVE IT!!

I used the dragonfly from Touches of Texture stamp set and the words are from Another Wonderful Year stamp set.  A little Wink of Stella on the dragonflies and you are done.
