Christmas Sampler

I love making samplers for the different holidays and so do my customers.  If I don't schedule a class for one I get a bunch of emails asking if I'm doing one.  Last night was my Christmas Sampler Class.  It was a great group and everyone enjoyed making their work of art.  I did a lot of prep work for this sampler so they could enjoy a little coloring and assemble their picture.  They brought their own 12" x 12" frame so once they completed the sampler they can go right home and hang it up.

Are you ready to see this wonderful Christmas Sampler???

Sampler
I used many stamp sets from the Holiday Catalog.  The colors I used are Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler.  I added some Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding and Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine to add some texture and of course plenty of dimensionals to give some pieces a little more depth (everyone knows how much I love dimensionals).

I would love to see a picture of your favorite Christmas Sampler.  Don't have one — well don't you think it's time to make one.  It is quite simple to do.

Seasonally Scattered Merry

I love this stamp set — Seasonally Scattered has so many possibilites on how to use the stamp.  You can ink it up with one color ink, you can emboss it, it is beautiful with the baby wipe technique or one of my favorites is to ink up with a lighter color and then use markers to "pounce" other colors on to the stamp and stamp on Whisper White cardstock.  So pretty.

Merry ScatteredThis time I chose Island Indigo for my card base.  Then a layer of Whisper White.  Next I used a layer of Smoky Slate cardstock.  I adhered a strip of All is Calm designer paper on the left hand side.  Then I stamped the "Merry" image from Seasonally Scattered with VersaMark ink.  I heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder and adhered this layer to the white.  I applied three different All is Calm Washi Tapes to Whisper White strips and trimmed the end of each strip into a banner and adhere to the card front.  I tied a bow with Lost Lagoon ribbon and adhered with a glue dot.  Last I added an All is Calm Snowflake Charm and put a large Rhinestone in the center of snowflake for a little extra sparkle.

I love this color combination.  How about you, what is your favorite color combination?

Christmas Tree and Stars

Is your house all decorated for Christmas yet?  Most of mine is done.  Lucky for me, my husband does the outside decorating.  He also puts the tree up and decorates that — I got fired after the first year we were married.  Apparently I don't decorate the tree properly.  He also put out his Christmas village this year — first time is 4 or 5 years.  It is so pretty — can't wait for the grandkids to see it.
Merry & Bright Green & Gold
I thought since it's tree decorating time I would share this beauty with you.  The card base is Mossy Meadow with a layer of Whisper White cardstock.
I punched the bottom of the Whisper White layers using the Confetti Star Punch.  Next I applied a layer of the All is Calm Washi Tape right above the stars.  I adhered a piece of the Gold Shimmer Cardstock behind the white so it showed through the star openings for that special sparkle.  I stamped the tree from Festival of Trees using Mossy Meadow ink and the ornaments are stamped with Pear Pizzazz ink, then I punched it out using the coordinating tree punch.  I stamped the Merry & Bright from Christmas Bliss using Mossy Meadow ink, adhere all of the layers to the card base.  Last adhere the tree with dimensionals and of course add the gold star to the top of the tree, I used a glue dot to hold it on.

Have fun with all of your holiday decorating.
