Sheltering Tree Framed Art

Wednesday night I held a class featuring the Sheltering Tree stamp set.  We made a framed art piece and I must say this piece really does look like art.  We used Stampin' Up!'s Canvas Creations.  What a great "unknown" product.  It is artist canvas that can be cut to any size and stamped on.  I have to thank Frances Martin, a fellow demonstrator, for the tips and techniques for this project.
Sheltering TreeWe covered all four seasons for this framed art.  I cut the Canvas Creations into 4" x 6" panels and stamped the tree with Early Espresso ink on all four panels.  Then I created the seasons:
Winter — we stamped snowflakes and snow on the ground with Pool Party ink
Sheltering Tree WinterThe spring panel leaves are Blushing Bride and Rose Red.  The grass is Old Olive.  Don't you just love the swing.
Sheltering Tree SpringFor the summer panel we used Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow combinations.  Don't forget to add the bike with Memento and Real Red inks.
Sheltering Tree SummerLast but not least is fall which used Hello Honey and Cajun Craze for the leaves and Old Olive and Cajun Craze for the grass.  Don't forget to add the rake for all those leaves.
Sheltering FallAfter we stamped the images, we took an Aqua Painter and went back over the stamped images to bring the color out and fill in some of the texture so you didn't get "holes" in the picture.

This project was must quicker than I expected and everyone LOVED their pictures when they finished.  I am anxious to play with the Canvas Creations some more — I'm thinking the Painted Petals stamp set will work great for this medium.

Give it a try and email me your project picture.
