Last week I had my Suite Surprise Class. This is a class that features one of the suites in the Annual or Holiday Catalog. This month we featured the Year of Cheer Suite. I love this suite — copper, gold, silver with plenty of sparkle and bling. At my Suite Surprise Class I start the night out giving everyone a little “sweet” treat. This time I used the Year of Cheer designer paper to make a bag box. What a fun treat holder and very quick to make.
I filled the bag box with Hershey’s Kisses because we could all use a kiss and who doesn’t need chocolate, right. Everyone wanted the directions so they could make these fun boxes, so I said I would share the directions here. (Thank you Erica Cerwin for the inspiration — she got her inspiration from another demo, and so on, and so on).
I started with a 6″ x 6″ square of designer paper.
Score one end at 1 3/8″ — turn 90 degrees
Score at 1 3/8″ ONLY TO THE PREVIOUS SCORE LINE (see picture)
Score at 2 3/4″ all the way
Score at 4 1/8″ ONLY TO THE PREVIOUS SCORE LINE (see picture)
Score at 5 1/2″ all the way
Trim 1/2″ tab off as shown
Cut on each score line as shown
Fold on all score lines
Put Fast Fuse or Tear and Tape along the 1/2″ tab — fold the tab inside as shown and fold the other edge over the top to create a flat tube rectangle.
Now let’s create the bottom of the bag box.
Fold one flap in — put Fast Fuse or Tear & Tape on the other three tabs and fold on top of each other.
The bottom should look like this.
Stand it up and you have this — add some treats to the bag.
Stamp the starburst from Cheers to the Year with VersaMark ink and emboss with Gold Embossing Powder — punch out with 2″ circle punch. Stamp “Season’s Greetings” inside the circle with Night of Navy ink.
Close bag with a Gold Binder Clip — attach circle with a dimensional to the clip — add bow with a Glue Dot.
Tada — you have a fabulous, elegant treat holder ready to hand out to everyone you know.
