October’s Card Sketch Challenge

Last night’s FB Live was the introduction to October’s Card Sketch Challenge.
I showed the Card Sketch Template first, then the fun Fall card that I made during the Live.

The template gives measurements for each layer — the finished card base is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
which means you start with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of card stock, then score it at 4 1/4″.

The Fall card uses the Hello Harvest Bundle with the Rustic Harvest Designer Paper.
I did add a mat layer under two of the designer papers to give an extra “pop” of color.

To show everyone how easy it is to use the template I changed colors, papers and stamp set
to create this cheerful scottie dog card for Christmas or truly any occasion at all.
The red gingham piece is one of the stamps in the set — love it!!

We ended the FB Live with a snowflake card on Night of Navy and Silver Foil.
The Snowflake Vellum added lots of snowflakes and the amazing Frosted Flurry Dies
are just too fun to work with.  All those snowflake “hands” pull up away from the Silver Foil.

The video will show how quick and easy this card sketch is.
I hope you’ll give it a try.  When you do, please be sure to post a picture over

Soft Seedlings with Picture This Dies

Soft Seedlings with Picture This Dies was a fun fall card we made at Stamp & Go Club this week.
The Picture This Die kind of hides in the Annual Catalog but is very fun to work with.
Just cut the die out once and you can make two or more cards — one with this main piece
and then use the cut-out pieces for greeting on other cards.

Soft Seedlings Stamp Set, Picture This Dies, Aspen Tree Dies, Champagne Rhinestones, Fall, Stamp with Peggy

Measurements:

Crumb Cake — 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ — score at 4 1/4″; 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8
Cajun Craze — 4″ x 5 1/4″
Very Vanilla — 3 3/4″ x 5″
Copper Foil — 2″ x 2″
Crushed Curry — 2″ x 2″

I stamped the Soft Seedlings leaf with Cajun Craze in the top right and bottom left corners of Very Vanilla.
Then I laid the Crumb Cake die cut over the Very Vanilla stamped piece and stamped the greeting
with Early Espresso ink in the center rectangle.  Adhere the pieces together using Dimensionals to add
the Crumb Cake die cut.

If you haven’t ordered the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set, this is a fabulous set that you will love.

Cottage Rose for World Card Making Day

Cottage Rose for World Card Making Day
This past Saturday was World Card Making Day and one of the cards shown used the Cottage Rose Bundle.
Stampin’ Up! held a 3 hour event late Saturday afternoon — they had designed this card layout and posted
all the supplies needed.  I cut my cardstock and prepared all my supplies to stamp along with them.  When
I saw the colors they were using I had to switch it up a bit.  I wanted to work with a fall color pallette.

Here is my version of their card design and layout.  The only thing I changed on this card was the colors.
But anyone who knows me, knows that I love layers!!  This card was beautiful the way it was designed but
I had to add a layer of Cajun Craze between the Very Vanilla card base and card front.

Here is my redesigned card just adding the layer of Cajun Craze.  But wait, I didn’t stop there.

I added a score line to the card front and created an Easel Fun Fold card.
A second flower was stamped and colored, then die cut and added with Dimensionals
to the inside of the card to create the stopper for the card base.
I love how this card turned out.

Stampin’ Up!’s Virtual World Card Making Day was awesome.
If you didn’t join this year — I hope you will join me for future event.
I truly enjoyed 2 1/2 hours of stamping fun and presentations.
