Stampin’ Sisters Retreat – By The Dock Masculine Cards

Masculine cards have always been a hit at our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat.
We all struggle with these cards so it’s always fun to see what I can come up with.
This year’s Mini Catalog gave me a wonderful mix of products using the
Country Club Designer Paper and the By the Dock Bundle.

I love the colors and different prints in these cards.
They are very relaxing to me — I love to be on the water.

“Here for you” is a great phrase to send out during these difficult times to let
someone know you are thinking about them.

This card has a great folding flap on the front using the Stitched Nested Label Dies.
I also love the cat tail on the front.

The frog was the hit on this card — I kept hearing comments about him.

The boat here looks like it’s ready to float off into the water.
Just waiting for my dad to jump in so we can go out fishing.

And the final card in this set reminds me of the pier my in-laws had at the campground.
I would go sit on the pier for an hour and just look out at the water — it was so peaceful.

We are down to one final project from our wonderful retreat weekend.
I’ll share that project with you tomorrow.

Stampin’ Sisters Retreat – Trio of Boxes

We try to do all types of stamping and paper crafting at retreat.
This project is a fabulous trio of boxes all set to add wonderful gifts for a very special person.
The Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Paper and Noble Peacock Foil was the perfect choice to make
this project extra special.  We even stamped tissue paper to make it pretty.

Everyone received a roll of the Old Olive/Pretty Peacock 3/8″ Reversible Ribbon.

Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set, So Sentimental Stamp Set, Bonanza Dies, Noble Peacock Designer Paper, Noble Peacock Foil Sheets, Old Olive/Pretty Peacock 3/8" Reversible Ribbon, Stampin' Sisters Retreat, Gifts, Stamp with Peggy
You wrap ribbon around a dowel or pencil (tape the ends to hold it to pencil).
Heat the ribbon with the Heat Tool and watch it START to melt just a little.
Let it cool a minute and slide off pencil — viola you have curled ribbon.
This was my favorite part of the project — we all love a new technique, right.

Happy Birthday to You Card Set

Ok, back to Stampin’ Sisters Retreat projects.
Can you believe that we are on Project 5 already!!!
This project features the Happy Birthday to You Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set.
Everyone received this stamp set as a gift in their goodie bag.

I love the Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive color combo on this card.
The flowers were fussy cut and added with dimensionals.

This card was a fun technique — we called it White Washing.
Everyone received a White Craft Ink Refill for this project.

We stamped the cake twice with VersaMark and embossed with White Embossing Powder.
Then put a drop of White Craft Ink Refill on a clear block.
You dilute the ink refill with the Aqua Painter and “paint” the cake.
We painted just the flowers on the second cake.

Once the flowers were dry, we colored them with Stampin’ Blends
Lovely Lipstick, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie and then cut the flowers out.

A little white washing on the cake plate.
The flowers are colored with Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends.

This was my favorite card of the project — I love the color combo.
The Scripty embossing folder added great texture to the Petal Pink layer.

Last but not least this lovely So Saffron birthday cake.
A little more white washing and coloring with Stampin’ Blends.

I heard lots of comments from the attendees that they loved this project,
especially trying a new technique that none of them had done before.
