Enjoy the Warmth of the Season Farmhouse Frame

Last night was my Christmas Framed Art Class.  They don’t know exactly what they are making when they sign up so the pressure is on to make it something they are really happy with.  I think we succeeded!!  There were lots of squeals when I showed them the project they were making.

I used the white washed frames we used at Fall Fest in October.  It is such an awesome frame and very on trend.  We used five different stamp set and five framelit/thinlits to create our master pieces.

The base is Whisper White (8″ x 10″), then a layer of Cherry Cobbler and Gray Granite.  Next we added Mossy Meadow mats for the Whisper White pieces that were embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder – lots of texture.  Then we started stamping, coloring and die cutting all our pieces and added lots of dimensionals – yes dimensionals are every where.

Once they got started they realized it wasn’t hard to do, just lots of pieces.  I even had one brand new stamper at class and she had a blast and is ready to come and do more stamping with us.

Beauty of the Season

Have you checked out the All is Bright Designer Paper?  At first glance this was a paper that I could pass on but working with it I have definitely fallen in love with it.  It has such a traditional, elegant look to it.  Today’s card is paired with Mossy Meadow and Gold Foil Sheets and have a glamorous look to it.

One of my favorite things to do is match my ribbon to my project, but Stampin’ Up! doesn’t carry ribbon in every color — what to do???  I use a Stampin’ Blend Marker and color the ribbon any color I want.  This 3/8″ Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon works great.

Merry Christmas Sparkle & Shine

Today’s card has a little sparkle and shine — it is simple but very elegant.  The Gold Foil Sheet, 3/8″ Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon and Gold Metallic Pearls add the extra touch to the All is Bright Designer Paper.  By itself the sheet of designer paper with the ornaments isn’t much but a couple of quick touches and you have beautiful.

I think this card is simple stamping, but maybe with the supplies used it jumps up a little to the casual stamper  – those who have a few more supplies.  You just stamp “Merry” and “Christmas” and the swirly from the Merry Christmas to All Stamp Set with VersaMark ink.  Next heat emboss with Gold Embossing Powder.  You will cut out embossed image using the largest oval from Stitched Shapes Framelit.  Using Gold Foil Sheet cut out a scalloped oval using the Layering Ovals Framelits.  The card base is Thick Whisper White with a layer of Gold Foil and then the ornament designer paper — don’t forget to add the 3/8″ Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon.  The finishing touch — Gold Metallic Pearls added to the swirly.
