Sitting Here Swinging

Sitting on a swing on the front porch is something I love to do.
We don't have a swing so Stampin' Up!'s Sitting Here stamp set with have to accomplish that same feeling for me.  Have you checked out this stamp set yet — it is so calming and peaceful.
Here is a card from our last Demonstrator Swap.
Sitting Here
There is plenty of "fussy" cutting but don't you just love it — the cat and all.

The card base is Flirty Flamingo with a Whisper White layer for stamping.
The swing is stamped with Sahara Sand ink on the Whisper White layer and again on a scrap of Whisper White.  The pillows are stamped with Dapper Denim, Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo.  The cat is stamped with Memento ink.
Cut out all the pieces with punches, framelits and paper snips.
Use a sponge or sponge dauber with Pool Party ink to rub in some sky above and around the swing.  Attach the swing to the card front over the stamped image with dimensionals.
Attach the pillows to the swing and the cat in front of the pillows.
Add a Rhinestone to the center of the Peekaboo pillow.

I hope you all had a fabulous 4th of July weekend.
We had some fun family time camping — 23 of us at once point.
All four of our grandchildren were there along with a great nephew and niece.
I love watching all the things all over through their eyes.

Here is our oldest grandson reading to the other kids (love it).
Camping
It was a little chilly in the morning but so much better than when it is hot.
So I didn’t do any stamping over the weekend but here is a card I made last month for a demonstrator event we held.

Floral PhrasesI used the Floral Boutique Suite.
The stamp set is Floral Phrases.
The designer paper is Floral Boutique.
I used Night of Navy ink to stamp the flower image — don’t you love the light and dark on this stamp — the stamp has high and low spots to create this affect — so cool.

Happy Birthday Shaker Card

Happy Birthday America!!!
I guess I should have made this card in Red, White & Blue.
Today’s card is a birthday shaker card that uses the Confetti Celebration stamp set.
I love making shaker cards and Stampin’ Up! has made it a whole lot easier with a brand new product — Foam Adhesive Strips.  I love these things.

Confetti CelebrationThe card base is Crumb Cake — 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
Next a layer of Pool Party — 4″ x 5 1/4″

Bermuda Bay strip — x 1 5/8″ x 5 1/4″
I used the Serene Scenery designer paper stack — lots of great scenery paper and the opposite site has great designs — so cool.  This strip is 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″

Bermuda Bay square — 3″ x 3″
I used the Layering Circles to cut a hole in the center.
Whisper White square — 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″
Lay the White layer under the Bermuda Bay layer (don’t attach yet) and stamp the greeting with Stazon ink — color in with Bermuda Bay marker.

Window Sheet square — 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″
Attach this to the back of the Bermuda Bay square with Snail.
Then take one strip of the Foam Adhesive Strips and run
around the circle on top of the window sheet.

I used scraps of Crumb Cake and Pool Party cardstocks
and the Sprinkles punch and punched the little pieces into the center
of the foam circle.  Peel the backing off the foam adhesive and attach the White stamped layer (stamped image towards the window sheet).
Now attach the shaker to a Crumb Cake square 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″.
Attach this to the card.
Viola — you are done.
