Relay for Life Fundraiser

Last night I held my Relay for Life Fundraiser.

Most of us have been touched by this horrible disease.
I started this activity about 8 years ago for my
friend Donna.
Donna’s mom passed away from cancer
and she decided she needed to help
fight this disease by forming her
American Cancer Society
Relay for Life Group called Jeanne's Angels.

Cancer had not affected my life at this time
but it was something I could do to help a friend
and was for a great cause with fun stamping.

Well life happened to me like many of you.
My dad was diagnosed with Colon cancer – not
once but twice.  I am very grateful that he is a survivor
and fights it every day of his life.
Unfortunately, last June my family wasn’t so lucky.
My husband, Tony’s mom passed away
on June 6, 2015 from cancer.

So now not only do I do this for Donna
and her Jeanne's Angels group
but I also do this in memory of
my mother-in-law, Pat
and in honor of my dad, Bun.

Look at how much fun everyone is having.

Relay for Life 2
Everyone made FIVE cards using all of the new
In Colors.  Donna is in the blue t-shirt.
Most of their class fee was donated plus
a portion of my commission on all orders
placed during the event.
I had some prizes to distribute
throughout the night.

In total we were able to donate $1,000
to the American Cancer Society
through Jeanne's Angels.

I can't THANK everyone enough
for their support of this event.
I can't do anything alone — only with
the love, support and help from all of you.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart
and a HUGE THANK YOU from Donna.

Floral Phrases

Have you checked out the product suites
in this new catalog?
There are some amazing combinations.
This is one of my favorites as some of you
already know.
This suite is called Floral Boutique.
It is on pages 76 & 77 of the new
Annual Catalog — so many beautiful
new products.

Floral Phrases
My card base is Night of Navy with a layer of
Basic Gray and Whisper White.
I added a strip of the Floral Boutique
paper.  I stamped the beautiful flower image
with Night of Navy ink and the greeting
in the upper left corner also in Night of Navy ink.
I added a strip of Floral Boutique Designer
Washi Tape
.

This card is very elegant but quick and
easy to make a bunch of them.
The greetings in the Floral Phrases
stamp set cover weddings and thank you cards.

Swirly Scribbles

One of my FAVORITE new stamp sets
is Swirly Bird.  There is a coordinating
thinlit called Swirly Scribbles.
Don’t you just love the name.
Today’s card features the thinlit and
a new embossing folder, Sparkle.

Swirly ScribblesThe card base is Black with a layer of Whisper
White.  I added a piece of the Pop of Pink designer
paper to the bottom of the card front and a piece
of Melon Mambo that I embossed to the top.
I used the Swirly Scribbles thinlit to cut out
a black “scribble” — I cut that in half.
I stamped the greeting from Love & Affection
with Memento ink and added to little flowers
from Swirly Bird with Melon Mambo.
Of course I added a little Pearl in the center
of each flower.
I adhered the half scribbles and placed
the greeting over the edges with dimensionals.
