WOW — Painted Petals Paper Pumpkin

When is the last time you checked out a Paper Pumpkin Kit?  WOW — Painted Petals Paper Pumpkin from July was AMAZING!  I had so much fun making alternate cards and projects.  Each color grouping used just one of each element in the kit.  I added additional cardstock and some die cutting.  Participants in my Paper Pumpkin Party received supplies for 8 cards, a framed art and a mini gift box plus still had supplies left to make 6 cards — 2 each of the original 3 cards!!  The picture below shows you the beautiful cards as they were designed by Stampin’ Up!

Here is a group picture of my 8 cards, framed art and mini gift box.  Some are inspirations from things I saw online with some fun tweaks.  Thanks to Rachael Tessman for the mini gift box idea — adorable and so quick and easy to make using one card base.

Calypso coral card set

The first four Calypso Coral cards are all made using one card base, one envelope and one die cut from the Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I added Calypso Coral, Early Espresso and Basic White cardstocks.

A simple greeting stamped directly on the card keeps the focus on the beautiful flowers.

This card is created by cutting the envelope apart and using it as designer paper.

This double panel gives a fun look to the card.  The greeting bubble came precut in the kit and you just stamp the works — so easy to do.  I stamped the flower with Memento ink on Basic White and colored it with Stampin’ Blends, then die cut it using the Every Celebration Die set that is an add-on item for July, August and September kits.

Next, I used one of the green card bases — cut it apart and used the card front with the die cut from the kit and added it to a frame I purchased at Dollar Tree a long time ago.  I love having these little stashes of items to decorate.

This time I started with a Thick Basic White card base, then used the card back from the project above with a piece of the coordinating envelopes as designer paper.  The greeting is stamped on a Basic White circle cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies, then adhered to a Mossy Meadow die that was cut using the Everyday Details Die.

The final green card used remaining pieces of the envelope and another stamped flower that was die cut using the add-on die set.

Our final three projects used the Melon Mambo card base, envelope and die cut.  First is this adorable mini gift box.  Again, thanks to Rachel Tessman for the fabulous design.

The box is approximately 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ x 1/2″ – just right for a little chocolate treat, gift card or small gift.

This card used parts of the envelope with the greeting stamped at the bottom.

The final piece of the envelope and the die cut stamped flower added to Stylish Shapes and Spotlight on Nature circles.

Time for a New Card Sketch Challenge

It’s a new month and that means it’s Time for a New Card Sketch Challenge.  August’s card sketch was taken from page 22 of the Annual Catalog.  It’s a very simple sketch that has so many possibilities.  Here’s the sketch with measurements that I used.

During the FB Live I created the Berry Burst bumble bee card and then shared the Blueberry Bushel card at the end.
I used the Simply Said stamp set for Happy Birthday greeting and Choose Happy for the bee and sailboat images.  The Full of Live Designer Paper gave me lots of colors to choose when pulling cardstock for the card base.

I’m not a big fan of plain cardstock so I used the Metal Plate 3D Embossing Folder for the Basic White layer and matted that on Basic Black which really makes the colors pop!!

The sailboat was my trial card and it was definitely a fan favorite.  That little sailboat is so cute!
