Fall Fest Take Home Project

This is the final picture from my Fall Fest Retreat.  It was an all day stamping event where the ladies completed FIVE projects — 1 home decor piece, 1 recipe card holder, 24 cards/tags.  This final project was intended for them to take home to complete or if they stamped a little faster than others they would have something to keep them busy while they were waiting.

Take Home ProjectThese four cards were made with pieces from the Watercolor Winter Card Kit — remember Projects 4 & 5 were also made from that same kit.  Wow, that's three projects from one kit — and we were able to get five people from two kits.  That's a lot of stuff in one kit.

Once again I forgot to take a picture of all the goodies the ladies received during the day so I "stole" Tina's picture.  There were a couple of differences but this will give you an idea of what the day was like.

Bag of GoodiesI hope you'll join me next fall for my Second Annual Fall Fest Retreat.  I think everyone agreed it was definitely worth it and they can't wait until next year.

Tomorrow we'll move on to other fun stamping and Christmas ideas.

Final Project

This is the fifth and final project from retreat (well there is the Take Home Project yet).

Remember this project is also made from the Watercolor Winter Card Kit. This time we made a Recipe Card Holder. Everyone loved this idea and thought they would make more for Christmas gifts. We even included the recipes for the treats of the day — Microwave Caramel Corn, Shredded Chicken Sandwiches, Cheesy Broccoli Soup and Pumpkin Muffins.

We started with the envelopes — after we stamped on those we adhered them together in one long strip. We added half of the striped card base that comes in the kit to each envelope like designer paper.
This is a very quick and easy project — you could make lots of these for Christmas.
Come back tomorrow to see the Take Home Projects — 4 adorable cards.

And it continues…

Sorry — I missed a day of posting — life happened.  Don't worry we'll catch up.  So now we are on to Project 4 — only one project left after this — well maybe a bonus project too.

Project 4 was this beautiful framed art piece.

Snow FrameWe used the Watercolor Winter Card Kit from the Holiday Catalog.  This kit was designed to make 20 cards — 5 each of 4 different designs.  We decided to try something different than what the kit was intended for.

For this framed piece of art we started with an 8" x 8" piece of Pool Party cardstock.  We used the "snow blotches" from Gorgeous Grunge with Whisper White ink to create a blizzard.  We added torn strips of Whisper White cardstock for the snow hills — a little glue and Dazzling Diamonds make it sparkle like snow.  The sled comes in the kit pre-cut so we used a Cherry Cobbler marker to color it red.  The trees are in the kit too so of course we added more snow sparkle with Dazzling Diamonds.  The fence is made my sponging a woodgrain embossed white cardstock that comes in the kit with Soft Suede ink and cutting the cardstock into 1/2" strips — trim the tops to a point and adhering to look like a fence.  The letters are also pre-cut in the kit so a little more "snow", add a snowflake charm embellishment to the banner and little white snowflakes from the sequins package and you are done with this little beauty.

Wait until tomorrow when you see what else we did with items from this kit — wow, what a value this kit is.

See you tomorrow.
