Winter Wonderland

Every year I hold a Christmas Buffet Class in early December where customers can make little Christmas gifts for family and friends.  I design approximately ten different items, then I post it out with a brief description, quantities available and the price.  My customers sign up for the projects they want to make and how many of each.  It's a very busy crafting night and everyone goes home with many great Christmas gifts.

Winter WonderlandThis Winter Wonderland picture is the first item from the night.  These sold out very quickly.  I started with 4" x 4" picture frames I had found in Target's $1 bins a few years ago.  The frames where white so I painted them with brown craft paint.  I used a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to stamp the pine bough and pine cones from Ornamental Pines stamp set.  I stamped them with VersaMark ink and then used White embossing powder to heat emboss them.  Then I used Old Olive and Crumb Cake Blendabilities to color the pine needle and pine cones.  When I finished coloring then I used Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to add "snow flurries" again stamping with VersaMark and heat embossing with White embossing powder.  I stamped the words from the same set in the bottom corner — a hint on this part — I used Memento ink to stamp the words.  Sometimes it showed up really well on others the ink "melted" down in the embossing and didn't show up very well.  In the future I would stamp the words with VersaMark and use Black embossing powder.

The ladies loved this project and I loved seeing how different each one turned out.  One new stamper was very impressed with herself when she finished because she didn't think she could do it and hers turned out beautiful.
