Take to the Sky Fun Fold

I love fun fold cards especially one that features designer paper like today’s Take to the Sky Fun Fold masculine card.  I started with the Take to the Sky Designer Paper — I chose this one with Mossy Meadow and airplanes on one side and Smoky Slate brick/plot design on the opposite side.  With this card, you get to see both sides – so much easier than picking your “favorite” side.

I added clouds, then stamped and colored the largest airplane and cut it out with the Adventurous Sky Die Set.  Wink of Stella was added to the propeller to make it look a little like wind.

The front of the card opens and gives a sneak peek of more clouds inside but you also get a look at both sides of the designer paper.  You start with a piece of the designer paper cut at 3 7/8″ tall x 5 7/8″ long and score one end at 2″ (make sure to check if your designer paper is directional — you don’t want anything upside by accident).

The designer paper is adhered to Smoky Slate and Mossy Meadow, then add the Smoky Slate mini card on the front.

I added 3 of the Industrial Trinkets — they add some fun texture to the card.

Season of Green & Gold Sneak Peek

Next week we have new Online Exclusives and today I have a Season of Green & Gold Sneak Peek.  I love One Sheet Wonder templates that give you designer paper pieces that are large enough to be the main focus of the card.  The Season of Green & Gold Designer Paper coming on in the Online Exclusives next week is gorgeous and perfect for this template.

The template is easy to follow

  1. Start with a 12″ x 12″ piece of Designer Paper
  2. Cut at 4″ — giving you a 4″ x 12″ strip — cut this into 4 pieces that are 3″ each (4 — 3″ x 4″ pieces)
  3. Next cut at 3″ — giving you a 3″ x 12″ strip — cut this into 3 pieces that are 4″ each (3 — 3″ x 4″ pieces)
  4. Cut a strip at 1 5/8″ — cut this strip into 2 pieces — 5″ each — leftover piece can be used for another project
  5. Cut a strip at 1 3/8″ — cut this strip into 2 pieces — 5″ each — leftover piece can be used for another priject
  6. Cut final 2″ x 12″ strip into 8 pieces — 1 1/2″ x 2″

Following the template, here are the 8 cards that I made during the LIV last night.  I added Mossy Meadow card bases and layers of Old Olive and Gold Foil.  These cards are amazing — they are rich and elegant and look like they took a ton of time.

Cards 1 & 2 — use the 8 pieces cut from the 2″ x 12″ strip — 2 each side of paper on each card

Fun Fold Cards 3 & 4

start with a Mossy Meadow card base that is scored at 2 1/8″ & 4 1/4″ creating z-fold card bases.

The 5th & 6th cards show off both sides of the paper using one 3″ x 4″ pieces and one 1 3/8″ x 5″ strip

Card 7 uses two 3″ x 4″ pieces of the Designer Paper and a fun die from the Season of Greetings Die Set.  The words are fun to put together to create phrase.

And our final card shows off all the gold that is in the Designer Paper.

Today I’m sharing my June Racing By Scrapbook Pages that are perfect for pictures from our Father’s Day celebrations or any of your favorite Summertime activities.  I started with Basic Gray and Smoky Slate cardstock to coordinate with the Country Lace Designer Paper strips.
