March 2024 Card Sketch Challenge

It’s a new month and that means it’s time for my March 2024 Card Sketch Challenge!!! Get those supplies out and give this Card Sketch Challenge a try. This is a great way to use some of those beautiful designer papers. Here is March’s Card Sketch Challenge Template with the measurements I used.

I decided to use two new Online Exclusive Suites that are available beginning TODAY!!! The Simply Zinnia stamp set are the main focus of the card on the left. I used Stampin’ Blends to color the flowers and the diagonal stripe designer paper is one of the Flowering Zinnia’s. The main card that was featured used the A Little Latte Designer Paper which I LOVE!!!

Oh My Gosh — Isn’t this just adorable?

But wait, there’s more. The greeting on the front of the card says “This one’s on me”, well what better way to make that happen than to add a pocket inside the card to hold a gift card!! BONUS!

Don’t forget to decorate your envelope to make your card extra special. Here is the front of mine.

Turn the envelope over and stamp a few coffee splats for fun!!

Simply Zinnia Card

The Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Old Olive color combination are stunning on this card which uses the Simply Zinnia Stamp Set and Flowering Zinnias Designer Paper. I used Stampin’ Blends to color the flowers.

Stampin’ Sisters Retreat 2024

This past weekend we held our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat 2024 and what a FABULOUS time we had. This is a yearly event that my sister, Tina Rappe and I hold the first full weekend of March at the Hilton Garden Inn in Rockford, Illinois. There were 78 wonderful ladies attending this year which was our 18th year. The doors to the event room are kept locked until 7:00 p.m. Friday night, then the doors are opened to all the wonderful decorations to share our fun theme.

The line is forming outside the door as they anxiously await the big reveal!!

The doors are opened and they are greeted with this fun 60’s & 70’s Groovy Theme!!

Tina and I stopped for a quick picture in front of the display to show our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat T-Shirts. I love our shirts, don’t you. They are so bright and colorful.

Everyone headed to find their table for the weekend and get set up to stamp. They were greeted at the table with our Groovy Project Bag.
This bag is filled with all 7 class projects for the weekend plus their T-Shirt. There are lots more goodies to come yet, so keep coming back.

Each table had a flower power trash bag in the center to keep the messes to a minimum over the next 2 days.

Our Newbies get a gift for joining us for the very first time. This year they received a package of the Adhesive Backed Hearts & Flowers.

Team members received a special gift from us just for joining and being on our team.

These lovely ladies are all on either my Team or Tina’s Team. They are our Stampin’ Sisters and we love them all!!!

just a little FUN fact!!

Every year, Tina and I laugh at how full our cars can be. Here a view of my Explorer, right behind my driver’s seat.

And here is the back of my vehicle — a few small spaces available but overall pretty full.

Tina has a car — a sedan size — here is her front passenger seat. She didn’t take a good picture of the back seat or trunk, but I swear she has a clown car.

Tina has ALL OF THIS in her little sedan. I told you it’s a clown car — HOLY COW!!!

Meandering Meadows Hello

With the help of the Garden Meadows Suite, I made this beautiful Meandering Meadows Hello card. The Meandering Meadows Designer Paper has such gorgeous watercolor prints, it lets you make fabulous cards in minutes. I promise you will LOVE this paper — give it a try.

Measurements:

Bubble Bath – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ – score at 4 1/4″; 2” x 4 3/4″; 1 3/8” x 4”; 1” x 1 5/8”
Night of Navy – 4” x 5 1/4″
Basic White – 2 pieces-3 7/8” x 5 1/8”; 7/8” x 1 1/2″
Meandering Meadows Designer Paper – 1 7/8” x 4 5/8”, 1 1/4″ x 3 7/8”

Fold Bubble Bath card base on score line
Emboss Basic White with Softly Sophisticated 3D Embossing Folder
Adhere to Night of Navy, then to card front
Adhere designer papers to coordinating Bubble Bath, then to card front
Stamp “Hello” with Night of Navy ink – adhere to Bubble Bath, then attach to card front with Dimensionals
Add dragonflies & birds to card front
Adhere second Basic White inside card

This weekend is our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat — Friday night through noon on Sunday is FILLED with stamping projects. I can’t wait to share some of them with you next week.
