Fable Friends Easter Basket

One more Fable Friends item — how about an Easter Basket Box.  My daughter, Katie, made a small box for gifts at our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat and I just loved it.  I knew I wanted to make a bigger version for an Easter treat.  I found large plastic eggs filled with M & M’s and that was exactly what I wanted.  Next I had to figure out dimensions that I needed.  In just a little time I had my larger version but I wanted it to have a basket look — viola, the Basket Weave Embossing Folder to the rescue.  Of course the Fable Friends stamp set was what I needed for the front of my basket and the Gingham Gala designer paper finished off the inside of my box.  Take a look — what do you think?

Isn’t this squirrel adorable!!  He is stamped on a Stitched Shapes circle and that is attached to a Pearlized Doily.  I wanted the back of the circles to be finished too, so I punched a 2″ circle and attached to the back of the doily.

Anyone interested in making one?  I’m thinking of doing a Facebook Live Thursday night to share all the dimensions and how to make it.  Leave me a comment if you would like to see this.

Fable Friends Framed Art

It’s April, so I had to share My Fable Friends framed art.  It was one of the projects we did at my Fable Friends Class.  I saw a couple of samplers on Pinterest and made a few adjustments for mine.  I knew that I wanted all four animal stamps in my picture.  The Gingham Gala Designer paper was also a MUST for my picture.  I added Black under all layers — I think it helps make everything “pop” a little.

We used an 8″ x 8″ frame for our picture.  The base is 8″ x 8″ Thick Whisper White, then Basic Black that is
6 3/8″ x 6 3/8″, Highland Heather is 6 1/4″ x 6 1/4″ and then Gingham Gala DSP is 6″ x 6″.  Each animal was stamped on Whisper White and then trimmed close, the Black mats are 1/8″ bigger.

Dutch Door Easter Greetings Card

Today I have a Dutch Door Easter Greetings card to share with you.  I saw one that Dawn Griffith made and just had to case it.  Fun fold cards are one of my favorite things to make and it’s been a really long time since I made this one.  My focus was the Fable Friends stamp set and the Gingham Gala designer paper.  Everyone at class loved this card — it definitely has a WOW factor but is very simple to make.

Isn’t she adorable.  Yes, I say this is a girl duck.  The hat is kind of “boyish” but the jacket is definitely for a girl, don’t you think?  I color her jacket with Light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend and the hat and jacket trim with Dark Calypso Coral.  Don’t forget to stamp the grass with Granny Apple Green ink.

The card opens to the left to show this much.  Do you see a little tail peeking out?

Awe — a row a little ducks — LOVE IT!!!
We again used Stampin’ Blends to color the ducks.
Don’t forget to add grass for them too — don’t want them floating in the air.

Now you make one and post it in the comments.
I’ll mail a prize to one lucky person that posts a picture.
