Today I have a very sweet and simple card for you. This card features the Heart Happiness stamp set and Petal Passion Designer Paper. I think this card works for many different occasions — it doesn’t say I LOVE YOU so it could be for a friend for Valentine’s Day, it would also be great for an Anniversary or Wedding, but it’s also great to just let someone know you are thinking about them!!!

We love to make hand-stamped cards for lots of different occasions. There is one occasion that we don’t like to have to make but it’s good to have them on hand — Sympathy Cards. When we really need one isn’t always the best time to sit down to stamp so having some on hand helps us a lot. The Petal Palette stamp set has many fabulous images and phrases in it but it didn’t have anything for sympathy so I grabbed one of my favorite phrase stamp set — Flourishing Phrases. The script is lovely and there is a wonderful message for the inside of your card too.
I went with a calm color combo — Fresh Fig and Smoky Slate with Basic Gray accents all on Shimmer White cardstock. I stamped the branch with Smoky Slate ink — be sure to stamp the first branch straight across the cardstock so there is room for the bird to sit. Then I added in some more Smoky Slate leaves around the edges. I stamped the bird with Basic Gray ink. I stamped With Sympathy in Fresh Fig and added some of the 1/4″ Basic Gray ribbon that comes in the Sale-a-Bration Shimmer Ribbon Pack (you can choose this FREE with a $50 order). It makes for a very simple but beautiful card.
