Charming Cafe Shadow Box Card

I love fun fold cards and I have a great one for you today.  It features the Charming Cafe Bundle and it’s a shadow box card.  This card style fold flat to fit in the envelope to mail but looks like a shadow box when you stand it up.  Helen Tietz made this card for the swap at our Stampin’ Sisters Retreat last month.

There are so many details to this card.  I just love it.  The yellow background makes it look like there is a light inside — nope, just wonderful stamps, ink, watercolor pencils, markers and plenty of patience.  Hmmm…. maybe we’ll make this at my Big Shot Class later this month, we’ll have to see.

Flying Home

April is here, the flowers are popping up in my flower beds, the birds have arrived, the temperatures are getting a bit better (though yesterday started out pretty cold).  I thought I would share this card we made featuring the Flying Home stamp set.  The images in this set are fabulous and I think this one might be my favorite.  The textured background is done with the Basket Weave Embossing Folder which I used flipped over and used the back side of.  This embossing folder was available as part of a bundle during Sale-a-Bration.  Don’t worry though if you didn’t get it, we’ve been told that is will be carrying over into the new Annual Catalog which comes out in June, so just a bit of patience and everyone will be able to use this great folder.

I cut out a square using the Stitched Shapes and stamped the image with Memento ink and colored the image with Stampin’ Blend Markers — Smoky Slate Combo Pack, Calypso Coral Combo Pack and Light Old Olive.
