Beautiful Day Brusho Painted Butterfly

Today I have another fun Brusho Crystal Colour technique for you.  This I used the bold butterfly image from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set and embossed the butterfly on Watercolor Paper with Whisper White ink and White Embossing Powder.  Next I used three clear blocks and sprinkled Blue Brusho on one block, Yellow Brusho on a second block and Mossy Green Brusho on the third block.  I used an Aqua Painter to add water to the Blue crystals to get a watery paint and painted some of the butterfly wings — clean Aqua Painter when finished so you don’t mix colors.  Then I repeated the same technique with the Mossy Green crystals and colored in more open spaces — clean Aqua Painter again before repeating with the yellow.  The butterfly is bright and vibrant.
Always start with a lighter coat, you can add more color, it’s harder to take color away once you have too much.  I also “painted” a little blue around the body and antennas so they stand out a little.

I added the Crushed Curry bow under the butterfly.  I stamped the Happy Birthday phrases with Memento ink.

Bubble Wrap Brusho with Party Panda

Here’s another fun technique we did using the Brusho Crystal Colour.  We used bubble wrap, the stuff you use when mailing packages.  We sprinkled red, yellow and blue Brusho on the bubble wrap, spritzed it all water, then set a piece of Watercolor Paper over the bubble wrap — put scratch paper over it all and rub over it — peel Watercolor Paper off bubble wrap and let dry.  You get a different pattern every time you do this.

Then we added another technique — Sprinkle and Spritz.  I cut out a circle of Watercolor Paper using the Layering Circles Framelits we sprinkled just a little of the blue Brusho and then very lightly spritzed it with water to spread the color a little.  This gave a fun background for our Party Panda which was stamped on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with Paper Snips and attach to circle background.  Stamp Happy Birthday on 1/2″ x 2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock — trim banner ends with Paper Snips and attach to panda with dimensionals.

Reminder, the Party Panda stamp set is one of the Sale-a-Bration items you can choose FREE when you place a $50 order from my Online Store.

Fun with Brusho Color Crystals and Beautiful You Stamp Set

Last week I held a card class featuring the Brusho Crystal Colour that are new in the Occasions Catalog.  They were SO much fun to play with — I just didn’t want to stop.  There are five colors in the box of Brusho Crystal Colours — red, blue, yellow, orange and green (they all have fancy names but ultimately these are the colors in the box).  The green is a mossy, “outdoorish” color but it worked great for our cards.

We started the night with the “messy” stuff first — we created the backgrounds for all four cards first so they had time to dry before we stamped on them.  Here are some of the ladies gathered around the tables.

Brusho Crystal Colour, Technique Class
I did some Google searching and found a fabulous technique by Gemma that I knew I had to share with my customers.  The Beautiful You stamp set came out last year and we all fell in love with it.  Well, this card puts a fun new favorite product together with one of our favorite stamp sets — are you ready to see it………..

Brusho Crystal Colour, Beautiful You Stamp Set, Brusho Baby Wipe Technique
I just love how simple and gorgeous this technique is.
How did we make this??
We started with Shimmery White cardstock — then we sprinkled Mossy Green Brusho on the bottom third of the cardstock and the Prussian Blue on the top two thirds.  Next we rubbed the Brusho into the cardstock — then we used a baby wipe to rub over the cardstock to blend the colors — using a new section of the baby wipe for each color.
Once that dried we stamped the dancing girl and the phrase and assemble the card.  It truly is that simple — LOVE IT!!!

The card turns out different each time you make it — look at all the cards made that night.
