Dad’s 80th Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated my dad's 80th birthday!!!
Dad's birthday was Friday.
He didn't want a "big" party just family to spend
the weekend with.  So my sister and two brothers
and our kids all converged on their house for the
weekend.  Some of us showed up Friday night,
others came throughout the day Saturday.

We had his birthday "party" dinner last night.
There were 24 of us all together (kind of like Christmas).

I asked a friend, Sandi Johnson, to make a cake for dad.
I told her he loves woodworking — my dad can build ANYTHING!!!
So check out the adorable cake she made.

AND Sandi knows that I am gluten free so I couldn't eat dad's cake.
Check this beauty out — she made me a gluten free cake so I
could have birthday cake too.

I knew I needed to make a special card for dad.
He has been a huge supported of my stamping business.
I saw a great card on Pinterest by Rachel.
I added a couple extra tools to my card but this
is perfect for dad.

Sealed with Love Trio

One more card using the Sealed with Love stamp set
and coordinating Love Notes framelits.

I love the Red and Black color combo.
I gave  a little texture with the Falling Petals embossing folder
on the Black layer.
Then added the circles on a “falling” diagonal.
Don’t you just love the little love note and envelope.

Love Sucker

Another fun project using the Sending Love designer paper
and the Love Notes Framelits.
Sealed with Love Sucker

I did a fun sucker holder at my Fall Fest Retreat
back in October and decided it was time for a fun
Valentine sucker holder.  Thank you Erica Cerwin
for the fun design.

I started with a 4″ x 4″ square of Real Red cardstock
Use the Envelope Punch Board
Line the edge of the cardstock up at 1 3/4″, score along
the diagonal line and punch the top.
Turn the cardstock a 1/4 turn lining up the score line
with the point on the envelope punch board, score and punch.
Repeat this on all 4 sides.
Fold up to create an envelope.
Cut out a small “V” on the bottom of the envelope
for the sucker to go into.
Cut a Whisper White scallop circle using the
Layering Circles framelits
Punch a 2″ circle of Black cardstock
Using the Layering Circles framelits and the
Sending Love designer paper cut out a circle.
With a scrap of Whisper White cut out the “striped” heart
using the Love Notes framelit
With Black scrap cut out “love” using the Sunshine Wishes
thinlits
Last — slip sucker into holder and tie a ribbon around
the sucker stick
