Marquee Messages

I love all the texture in today’s card.
This is a swap card I received from my sister, Tina.
She used Marquee Messages stamp set and lots of fussy cutting — though it really is pretty easy fussy cutting.

TinaThe card base is Thick Whisper White with a layer of So Saffron that was embossed with the Confetti embossing folder.  She stamped the message with VersaMark ink three times — one time each on Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Pear Pizzazz.  Then she cut out each color as shown and then attached the three colors together.

She stamped It’s Your Birthday with Stazon ink and colored in with markers.
She used the Balloon Bouquet punch to punch out a large Flirty Flamingo and a small Peekaboo Peach balloon.  The balloons are attached with dimensionals — placing the dimensional over a piece of White Baker’s Twine for the string.

Last she added Rhinestones all over the Pear Pizzazz part of the marquee for some added bling.

Fiesta!!!!

Each year when the new Stampin’ Up! catalog comes out there is always one stamp set that is “NOT ME” but draws me to it every time I page through the catalog.  We all have a style we tend to go to and some stamp sets just don’t fit that style.  This year was no exception — today’s stamp set is not my normal style but every time I looked at the catalog this set jumped off the page and screamed BUY ME!!!  I couldn’t resist — I finally gave it and ordered the bundle, embossing folder and the designer paper and I love it.

It’s all part of the Festive Birthday Suite on page 10-11 of the catalog.
Birthday Fiesta is the stamp set and I LOVE the Llama.  He reminds me of The Emperor’s New Groove (Disney movie).  I keep waiting for him to talk.

Fiesta
Anyway — the card base is Tempting Turquoise (haven’t used that color in a long time) with layers of Black and Pumpkin Pie.  The Pumpkin Pie layer is embossed with the Festive embossing folder.

I stamped the llama with Crumb Cake ink on Sahara Sand cardstock and cut him out with the coordinating Fiesta Time framelits — makes it quick and easy.  Don’t forget to stamp his blanket — I used Melon Mambo ink to coordinate with the designer paper used.
Where is the designer paper — the guitar and sombrero are cut out with paper snips from the Festive Birthday designer series paper — so cute and worth the fussy cutting.

I used the Layering Circles framelits to cut out a Melon Mambo scallop half circle.
I stamped the words with Memento ink on the scallop circle.
I stamped just “Fiesta” again on a 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ strip of Melon Mambo and attached over the scallop circle.

I think this is such a fun card — wouldn’t you love to receive this for your birthday.

Raccoons Anyone??

We went camping for the 4th of July weekend.
We fought off raccoons all weekend.
They were brave and very big — maybe the largest raccoon I’ve seen up there.
The raccoon was my inspiration for today’s card.
Foxy Friends
I started with an Old Olive base then Basic Black and Whisper White layers.
I added a strip of paper from the Serene Scenery designer paper stack — 2″ x 5 1/4″.
I used the Triple Banner Punch on one end.

I used the Foxy Friends stamp set to stamp the raccoon body with Smoky Slate ink,
the stripes on his tail and his mask/ears with Basic Gray and his eyes & nose with Memento.

I added the words from In the Meadow.

A very quick and easy card and it reminds me of the fun we had on our family camping weekend.
