Sailing, Sailing, That’s What We Like To Do

My sister, Tina, posted this card
layout last week.  I fell in love
with the simplicity of this card.
I changed some colors around
and used this sample for one of
the cards made at my
Relay for Life Fundraiser earlier
this week.
The stamp set used is
Swirly Bird.

BoatThe card bases is Dapper Denim with
a layer of Tip Top Taupe.
I stamped the two solid parts of the
sail with Marina Mist ink and the
striped sail is done with Dapper Denim.
I cut out the square and the
scallop square using the new
Laying Squares Framelits.
I cut a 1″ x 5 1/4″ strip of the
Dapper Denim diagonal stripe
designer paper and stamped
Happy Birthday with Dapper
Denim ink.

Very quick & easy.
Change out the Happy Birthday
for Happy Father’s Day and
you are ready for Sunday.

Moroccan Nights Scrapbook Pages

June scrapbook pages — hmmm….
What do you do?
I like to keep with my monthly themes.
June is Father’s Day — yet not everyone
wants Father’s Day pages, so I created
kind of masculine pages using the
Moroccan Nights designer paper and
color combinations.
June Page 1
The page bases are Delightful Dijon (12″ x 12″).
I used Dapper Denim (new In Color) for the
five banners, punching them with the
Triple Banner Punch and attached to
layers of Early Espresso.
I added tiny stars cut from Cajun Craze
cardstock using the Sliding Stars Framelits.

I attached a 1″ strip of Moroccan Nights
designer paper to Early Espresso and
attached across the center.

I punched three stars from Cajun Craze
using the Medium Star Punch.
The stars are attached to Dapper Denim
with dimensionals.

June Page 2
The same colors are used for the second page.
I punched six 1″ banners of Early Espresso
for this page across the bottom.

I think these pages work great for those
Father’s Day pictures or even just
general pictures of all the guys
in your life — husband, kids, friends.

Relay for Life Fundraiser

Last night I held my Relay for Life Fundraiser.

Most of us have been touched by this horrible disease.
I started this activity about 8 years ago for my
friend Donna.
Donna’s mom passed away from cancer
and she decided she needed to help
fight this disease by forming her
American Cancer Society
Relay for Life Group called Jeanne's Angels.

Cancer had not affected my life at this time
but it was something I could do to help a friend
and was for a great cause with fun stamping.

Well life happened to me like many of you.
My dad was diagnosed with Colon cancer – not
once but twice.  I am very grateful that he is a survivor
and fights it every day of his life.
Unfortunately, last June my family wasn’t so lucky.
My husband, Tony’s mom passed away
on June 6, 2015 from cancer.

So now not only do I do this for Donna
and her Jeanne's Angels group
but I also do this in memory of
my mother-in-law, Pat
and in honor of my dad, Bun.

Look at how much fun everyone is having.
Relay for Life 1

Relay for Life 2
Everyone made FIVE cards using all of the new
In Colors.  Donna is in the blue t-shirt.
Most of their class fee was donated plus
a portion of my commission on all orders
placed during the event.
I had some prizes to distribute
throughout the night.

In total we were able to donate $1,000
to the American Cancer Society
through Jeanne's Angels.

I can't THANK everyone enough
for their support of this event.
I can't do anything alone — only with
the love, support and help from all of you.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart
and a HUGE THANK YOU from Donna.
