My oldest grandson has a birthday coming up
later this week.  I can’t believe he’s going to
be 9 already — where does the time go.
I saw this card on a display board last month
at convention and it made me think of him.
I don’t own this Skating By stamp set and
now it’s retiring (darn).
I decided I better share this sample with
you so you don’t miss out — it is perfect for
those boys in your life.

Skating By logoBelieve it or not the card base is
Mint Macaron with a layer of Soft Suede.
Next is a layer of the English Garden design paper.
Didn’t know this print was in there did you?
The boy is stamped with Archival Black ink and colored
in with a Blender Pen or Aqua Painter and
ink pads — Night of Navy, Old Olive, Mint Macaron,
Blushing Bride, Cajun Craze and highlighted
with Sahara Sand.
The camera is stamped, colored, cut out
with Paper Snips and attached with a dimensional.
Two pieces of Pear Pizzazz 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon
and a 2 1/2″ Soft Suede circle were attached
and the boy layers attached with dimensionals.

What a fun card — I really wish I had that stamp set now.

Retiring items that you don’t want to miss out on.

Gorgeous Botanicals

Today’s card has some fun elements.
We combined Gorgeous Grunge stamp set
with Botanical Gardens designer paper to
create a card with lots of different textures
and designs going on.

Beautiful Blessing logoThe card base is Thick Whisper White.
A strip of the Botanical Gardens designer paper
was added to the left side.
The “blotches” from Gorgeous Grunge was
stamped in Cajun Craze and Old Olive ink.
The small dots were stamped with Pool Party ink.
The frame stamp is from Rose Wonder stamp set
and was stamped with Old Olive ink.
The words are from the same stamp set and
stamped with Cajun Craze ink.
It was cut out using the coordinating
Rose Garden
Thinlits and attached with
dimensionals.  The final touch was
adding three Black Candy Dots.

Helping Me Grow Pink Daisy

After this month's Stamp of the Month Class
I wanted to go outside and pick a bunch of flowers.
Unfortunately our weather isn't cooperating to
let me do that so the cards will have to do for now.
This is the final card from my class which featured
the Helping Me Grow stamp set.

Pink Daisies logoThe card base is Basic Black — 5 1/2" x 7 1/4"
Score at 4 1/4".
Add a layer of Pink Pirouette 2 7/8" x 5 3/8"
Then a layer of Shimmery White 2 3/4" x 5 1/4".

Stamped the daisies with Archival Black.
We colored them in using the Aqua Painters and
Pear Pizzazz, Pink Pirouette and Rose Red inks.

We added some dots from Gorgeous Grunge
stamp set and Smoky Slate ink (stamped off).
I wanted just very light dots.

We stamped the cute label on Pink Pirouette
with Black ink and cut out with the
Rose Garden Thinlit.
Stamp Sweet Friend with black ink
and attach with dimensionals.
