Fry Box Easter Basket

Easter is right around the corner — even if we did get 6"+ of snow yesterday.  Someone posted I hope the Easter Bunny has snowshoes — hopefully he won't need them as the snow should all melt right away.  However the Easter Bunny arrives he'll love bringing this fun basket filled with little treats.
Happy Spring French Fry BoxThis cute little basket was made using the French Fry Box Die.  With just a few small adjustments you have a whole new look.  I stamped the chicks from For Peep's Sake using VersaMark ink and White Embossing Powder.  I used From the Garden stamp set to stamp the "garden pick" and added the Happy Spring words, then I cut it out using the Handpicked Framelits — I love when things coordinate so well, it makes our lives so much easier.

Just that quick our little basket is ready to fill with jelly beans or my favorites those little Cadbury chocolate eggs — not the gooey egg but the crunchy shell chocolate eggs, yum, yum.

For Peep’s Sake Fold Over Card

I love to do cards with different folds.  This was one of the cards from the Stamp of the Month class featuring the For Peep's Sake stamp set.
Peep's SakeI love those little chicks.  The part of the card that opens is the top layer which is the narrowest — that's different, huh.  I used a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock — 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and then a layer of Pool Party that is 4" x 5 1/2".  The Calypso Coral card base is 3 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2".  Inside is a layer of Whisper White that is 3" x 5 1/2".  I punched a 1 3/4" circle in the center of the Calypso Coral piece and stamped the chick on the Whisper White layer underneath.

Here's the inside of the card.
Peep's Sake InsideSuch a fun Easter card — now to decide who to send this one to.

Kind Koala

I fell in love with the Kind Koala stamp when the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog came out this year.  He is just so darned cute.  At this month's Stamp of the Month Class which featured the For Peep's Sake stamp set, I wanted to show them you could use the stamp for more than just Easter.  I saw this card on Pinterest (sorry I forgot who designed it) and made a few little tweaks).
Koala BloomIsn't he just the cutest!  The base of the card is Calypso Coral — I think that is my new favorite color — it works so well for spring cards and projects.  I added a piece of Neutrals Crumb Cake DSP and a strip of DSP from the Stacked with Love DSP pack.

The Koala stamp has words on it — I cut the Thinking of You words (which can still be added any time).  I inked up the Koala with Soft Suede ink and then used a Post-it Note to cover up the "YOU" under the Koala and stamped on the Whisper White panel.  When you put the Post-It Note over the word you kind of cover the bottom of the Koala so after I stamped him I took a Soft Suede marker and drew over the bottom of him to make sure it shows.  I colored him with the Crumb Cake marker and the inside of his ears and his nose with the Crisp Cantaloupe marker.  The "Bloom" with the tulip stamp is from the For Peep's Sake stamp set — I inked that up with markers and stamped.

Isn't this card adorable — love it.
