Last week was my Stamp of the Month Class.
Our featured stamp set was Party with Cake.
I was looking at card ideas to inspire me and
I came across this fabulous card that I had to
share with my ladies. I liked the card so much
that I made only a couple of minor adjustments.
This card was designed by Brian King — thank you
for a fabulous card Brian.
I added some Tip Top Taupe cardstock to my card.
The card base is Tip Top Taupe with a layer of
Watermelon Wonder. Then I added a layer of
Tip Top Taupe Envelope Paper.
Next is another layer of Watermelon Wonder
cardstock and then Cherry on Top designer paper.
I used the Oval Framelits to cut a Tip Top Taupe
oval and then a Whisper White one.
The words in the stamp set are
“It’s Time to Celebrate with Cake”.
I didn’t want the whole thing on this card, so what
did I do……I cut my stamp apart.
Actually I cut this stamp into three stamps —
It’s Time To
Celebrate
With Cake
It works great — I can say
It’s Time to Celebrate
or
Celebrate with Cake
or
It’s Time to Celebrate with Cake
just by lining the words back
together on my clear block — easy, peasy.
I colored “with” using the Blush Blossom marker
and “Cake” with the Watermelon Wonder marker.
Don’t forget to “pop” it up with dimensionals.
Almost Ready
Oh My Goodness — it's almost here.
My sister, Tina and I put on a Stampin' Sisters Retreat weekend.
It is a wonderful weekend with 60 stamping friends.
Tina and I have 8 projects planned to fill their weekend
with plenty of stamping. A project would be a set of 5 or 6 cards,
usually some type of scrapbook project, 3-D gift projects.
We try to cover all types of paper crafting.
This is our 10th year — the big weekend starts Friday night.
I am busy cutting and prepping all the projects.
Here I have piles started to sort this project into 60 bags full
of supplies.
Yesterday my husband was awesome — he cooked the meals
for us (usually he only cooks the meat for dinner and I have to do the rest
but last night he even made big salads to go with the steaks)
and look — I even got him to help me sort the piles
(only for a few minutes but every minutes counts).
Let's just say he wasn't happy about the picture taking (heehee).

Ok, time to get back to work or I'll never have it finished in time.
Keep coming back — next week I can show you the projects and all
the fun we had. Maybe you can join us next year.
Memories in the Making Birthday
I love when stamp sets have a double use.
Today’s featured stamp set is Memories in the Making.
This is a Project Life stamp set so it works great for memory
keeping but also is a fabulous set for making cards.
This was another card the ladies got to make at our
Winter Warm Up last Saturday.
The card base is Thick Whisper White with a layer of
Whisper White attached with dimensionals.
The swirl stamp is stamped with Lost Lagoon ink.
Happy Birthday is stamped with Memento ink in the center of
the swirl. Then stamp a few flowers scattered around
with Watermelon Wonder and So Saffron ink.
This is definitely a quick and cute card.
Great to make up a few to have on hand.
