Peep Basket

I love this time of year for all the Easter candy especially PEEPS — I LOVE them.  I know most adults hate them but I just love them.  Unfortunately I can't have them this year.  The doctor put me on a "healthy eating" plan for health reasons (YUCK) so I can't have sugar but I still want them.  I was at Walmart tonight picking up some candy for my grandchildren (I know, bad grandma).  I couldn't believe all the flavors the peeps come in — that's just wrong, peeps aren't suppose to taste like anything but sugar.  Anyway……I made this basket at the Big Shot class earlier this week.
Peep BasketThe basket is cut from Stampin' Up!'s Coaster Board.  It is nice and thick & sturdy — I'll be able to put plenty of treats in this basket.  I lined the basket with one of the Best Year Ever DSP sheets — so cute, I love those colors.  I added a couple of Calypso Coral bows on the sides.  I stamped a tag made from the Ornate Tag Topper Punch and stamped the chick from Cheerful Critters — such a cute stamp set.  I added the For Peep's Sake to the chick and I'm putting a Peep in the bag with the tag on it.  So cute!!!  This was a very fun project to make.

Berry Basket Card

This month's Big Shot Class featured the Berry Basket Die.  I wanted to show them something besides making a basket.  I saw this card layout on Pinterest and my sister, Tina Rappe, did one like it at class last week.  This was exactly what I was looking for.  I tweaked it just a bit to make it my own.  I am happy with the final result.
Flower Basket CardThe flowers are from Petal Potpourri.  The Bloom tag is from For Peep's Sake — told you I love that stamp set.  I added a Subtle Candy Dot to the center of the So Saffron flower, an Itty Bitty Accent Epoxy Sticker to the center of the Crisp Cantaloupe flower and a pom pom from the Pom Pom Trim to the center of the Coastal Cabana flower.  Thanks Pinterest and Tina for the inspiration.

Easter Treat Box

I love to make 3D paper craft projects, especially if it's a treat holder.  This cute box was designed by fellow demonstrator Connie Stewart.  I fell in love with in when I found it on Pinterest.  I tweaked it just a bit and here is the final project.
Happy Easter Treat Box
The inside holds three mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups — sorry the picture doesn't show the candy — I think my hubby ate them.

So adorable, the ladies at class loved this and wanted the dimensions so I thought I would share them with everyone, it really is quite easy to make.

The box base is Whisper White cardstock — 3" x 5 1/2" — score all 4 sides at 3/4".The box insert is Whisper White cardstock — 4" x 5 1/4" — score with the 5 1/4" side at the top of your Simply Scored Tool and score at 1 1/2", 2 1/4", 3 3/4", 4 1/2"

The box top is Daffodil Delight cardstock — 3 1/2" x 6 –  score all 4 sides at 1".
I used the Scallop Border Punch to punch all four sides of the lid to give the box a prettier look.

The chicks and Happy, Hoppy Easter stamps are from the For Peep's Sake stamp set.  This set is great for all your Easter projects — go to my online store and order it today, you'll have it next week, just in time to whip out a few projects.
