In Color Butterflies

Here's another version of yesterday's card.  This time we used the retiring In Colors — Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding.

Butterfly HiInstead of circle punches, we used the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches.  We changed the embossing folder and this time used the Spring Flowers embossing folder.  Amazing how the card looks completely different this time.

What a great way to change things up a bit on a card layout.  Remember this when you are searching for a card to make — you find one and think "oh, I don't have those punches or embossing folder".  Look at what you do have and make a quick switch and viola, you have your own version of the card.

Birthday Buddy

Happy Birthday Little Buddy — this card is perfect for any young man.  The card is simple to make with just a few punches or the Circle Framelits, an embossing folder and a word stamp.

Circle BirthdayThe base of the card is Marina Mist with a layer of Night of Navy and a layer of Whisper White.  The circles are punched from scraps of cardstock — Soft Sky, Marina Mist and Night of Navy.  The punches are 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", 1 3/8".  Just glue down the circles on to the Whisper White layer and then run through an embossing folder (we used the Alphabet embossing folder for this card).  Stamp the "Happy Birthday Little Buddy" and punch out with the 1 3/8" circle punch, adhere it to a 1 3/4" circle of Night of Navy and attached to the front of the card with dimensionals.

Come back tomorrow to see the same card layout using different colors of cardstock and butterfly punches in place of the circle.

Butterfly Birthday

Have you ordered the Butterfly Die yet?  I love this thing.  It's been out of stock for quite awhile but it is due in the warehouse this coming week.  I will send a SHOUT OUT when we can order it again
Black White Yellow ButterflyI received this birthday card in a swap back in January.  The designer paper is the Stacked with Love stack — great designer papers in this stack.  The butterfly is cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock — don't forget to use a dryer sheet and wax paper and that butterfly will come right out — no poking at lots of little pieces.
