Love is Kindness Birthday

I have fallen in love with the Love is Kindness stamp.  Here is the second card we did in the Stamp of the Month Class.
Happy Birthday Wishes
The card base is So Saffron with layers of Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi.  This time we stamped the Tulip image on White Shimmer cardstock and colored the image with Soft Sky Soft and Wild Wasabi Blendabilities.  I stamped the Happy Birthday Wishes from Petite Pairs stamp set also on White Shimmer cardstock, punched out with the 1 1/4" circle punch and mounted on 1 3/8" circle of Wild Wasabi carddstock.  After adhering the Wild Wasabi rectangle to the Soft Sky rectangle I wrapped Wild Wasabi 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon around it and tied with a piece of White Bakers Twine.

Don't you love to color and shade with the Blendabilities?  What is your favorite color of the Blendabilities?

Silver Foil Blendabilities

Last night's Stamp of the Month Class featured the Love is Kindness stamp — this single stamp has a great saying on the stamp with the bouquet of tulips.  I decided to cut the words off, I can still use the words with the stamp but now I can use other words with the tulip bouquet too.  This class also included a set of Soft Sky Blendabilities so they could color in the tulips and practice their skills using the Blendabilities.
Silver Foil Birthday WishesFor this card we used the Silver Foil Sheets.  I pre-cut an oval using the Oval Collection Framelits.  We heat embossed using Black Embossing Powder — don't forget to use the Embossing Budding so the embossing powder doesn't stick to the Silver Foil Sheets.  Then we color the Tulips with the darkest Soft Sky Blendability.  When using the Blendabilities on the Silver or Gold Foil Sheets you have to kind of dab on the color.  If you color by rubbing or scribbling with the marker you can remove the silver or gold coloring from the cardstock.  So you just want to dab on the color, let it dry and go over it again — do this a couple times to get a darker shade.  This technique took a bit of practice but the ladies all did a great job.

More Swap Cards

I think I said before that I participated in three organized swaps while I was in Orlando last month for Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Conference.  I received so many wonderful cards.  I thought I would showcase just a few for you today.
FullSizeRender-03This card used the Stacked with Love DSP and the Petal Potpourri stamp set and coordinating Flower Medallion Punch.
Painted Petal

I love the color combo and simplicity of this card.  It features the Painted Petals stamp set which is stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink and mounted on Sahara Sand card base.
Moon Lake Reflection

This card was one of the favorites in the Shoebox Swap I participated in.  I got to make this reflection card — quite detailed but so cool looking.  It features the Moon Lake stamp set which is perfect for masculine cards.
