Moon Lake Happy Birthday

Masculine cards are tough to design.  Making cards with flowers and feminine designs is so much easier.  The Moon Lake stamp set from the Occasions Catalog makes designing cards for the men in your life a breeze.
Moon Lake BoatThe base of the card is Whisper White with a layer of Basic Black.  I stamped the boat and tree image from Moon Lake using Memento Ink.  The Happy Birthday is from Crazy About You — the words are separate so I mounted them onto the same block (that is one of the things I love about the photopolymer stamps) and stamped with Memento ink.  The Memento stamp pad is what you should use for black ink with the photopolymer stamps — stazon can have a reaction with the materials used in the photopolymers.  Last I layered the stamped image on the Black layer.  Wow, not one dimensional used on this card — can you believe it.

Simple Wonderful Tulips

Have you tried the Irresistibly Yours DSP yet?  LOVE IT!!!  It is white embossed images on white 12" x 12" cardstock — so cool to use just as it comes but better yet, you can color it any color that you want and the embossed images stay white while the rest of the cardstock is colored.
Simply WonderfulThe base of this card is Pear Pizzazz with a layer of Soft Sky and then a layer of Whisper White.  The bottom of the White layer is a piece of the Irresistibly Your DSP that I used a sponge and Pear Pizzazz ink to color — so cool.  I used Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi Blendabilites to color the tulips and stems.  I used the lightest shade in the Skintone Blendabilities to color the "newspaper" just a little bit for some added depth.  I added some Soft Sky 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon and a knot on the right side and last I made a small bow using White Baker's Twine.

Remember you can get a package of Irresistibly Yours DSP when you place a $50 order.

Vellum Love is Kindness

Blendabilities on vellum cardstock — that's what we did for this card.  How long has it been since you used vellum cardstock?
Blue DotsThe base of the card is Soft Sky, then a layer of Basic Grey and a layer of Best Year Ever DSP.  I stamped the tulip image with VersaMark ink and embossed with Black Embossing Powder.  I colored the tulips using the darkest Soft Sky Blendability.  I colored, let it dry, then colored it again to get a dark shade (the color is much lighter on the vellum).  The stems are colored with the Wild Wasabi Blendabilities.  Since snail or glue dots show through when using vellum I used Mini Brads to attach the vellum to the Whisper White cardstock and adhered this to the Basic Grey layer.  Last I tied a small bow using White Bakers Twine and adhered with a Glue Dot.
