Winter Wonderland

Every year I hold a Christmas Buffet Class in early December where customers can make little Christmas gifts for family and friends.  I design approximately ten different items, then I post it out with a brief description, quantities available and the price.  My customers sign up for the projects they want to make and how many of each.  It's a very busy crafting night and everyone goes home with many great Christmas gifts.

Winter WonderlandThis Winter Wonderland picture is the first item from the night.  These sold out very quickly.  I started with 4" x 4" picture frames I had found in Target's $1 bins a few years ago.  The frames where white so I painted them with brown craft paint.  I used a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to stamp the pine bough and pine cones from Ornamental Pines stamp set.  I stamped them with VersaMark ink and then used White embossing powder to heat emboss them.  Then I used Old Olive and Crumb Cake Blendabilities to color the pine needle and pine cones.  When I finished coloring then I used Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to add "snow flurries" again stamping with VersaMark and heat embossing with White embossing powder.  I stamped the words from the same set in the bottom corner — a hint on this part — I used Memento ink to stamp the words.  Sometimes it showed up really well on others the ink "melted" down in the embossing and didn't show up very well.  In the future I would stamp the words with VersaMark and use Black embossing powder.

The ladies loved this project and I loved seeing how different each one turned out.  One new stamper was very impressed with herself when she finished because she didn't think she could do it and hers turned out beautiful.

A Very Merry Everything

Today's project is an adorable little treat holder.  I made this one for a Christmas goodie to be tucked inside but it would be a great favor for any occasion — a baby shower, bridal shower or wedding, birthday party, just about anything.

Treat Holder Treat Holder Inside
This is a very quick project to make — you could whip out a bunch in no time at all.

The base of the treat holder is Garden Green — 2 3/4"  x 9 3/4",
scored at 3 1/2", 3 7/8", 7 1/8", 7 1/2"

I used the Word Window punch to punch an opening for the candy bar in the 2" end.  Fold on all score lines and adhere the end with the punched opening using Sticky Strip.  I used a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock for the belly band — 1 1/2" x 7 1/2", score at 2", 2 3/8", 5 1/4", 5 5/8".  Wrap this around the treat holder and adhere with Sticky Strip.  Then I added a piece of Trim the Tree designer paper — 2 1/8" x 2 1/2" and adhere to the belly band.  I stamp the tag image from Merry Everything and punched with the coordinating Note Tag Punch and attached with dimensionals.

See I told you very quick and easy.  Go ahead and make a bunch of these and pass out to everyone you meet over the next couple of weeks.

Love Card

I've been showing you cards that I designed using the Seasonally Scattered stamp set.  The other two cards and today's card were all made using the Regals Collection cardstock and inks plus cardstock from the Neutrals Collection.  I also used designer paper from the Trim the Tree designer paper stack.  Today's card would be great for a Valentine card but it would also be a wonderful anniversary or wedding card.

LoveThe card base is Early Espresso with a layer of Cherry Cobbler that has been embossing with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I added a strip of Cherry Cobbler plaid designer paper.  The LOVE image was stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink and adhered to a piece of Early Espresso cardstock.  I adhered this to the card front with dimensionals and then add to cute little hearts.

Don't you just love the versatility of this stamp set.  Remember you only have a couple of weeks left to order the Seasonally Scattered stamp set.
