Hooray for Surprises with Poetic Expressions

Today’s project is fun with a new set of dies and designer paper – Hooray for Surprises with Poetic Expressions.  A lovely touch of elegance that works great for Valentine’s Day or an Anniversary card.  This piece of paper from Poetic Expressions has rows of hearts that coordinate with the heart die from Hooray for Surprises dies.  The stitched banner behind it is from Thoughtful Expressions Die Set.  To finish the card I added Iridescent Hearts.

measurements:

Boho Blue — 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ — score at 4 1/4″; 3 3/4″ x 5″; 2 1/2″ x 3″
Basic White — 2 pieces — 4″ x 5 1/4″; 3 pieces — 1 1/2″ x 2″; 2 pieces — 1 1/2″ x 2 3/8″; 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″
Designer Paper — 3 pieces — 1 3/8″ x 1 7/8″; 2 pieces — 1 3/8″ x 2 1/4″; 1/2″ x 5 1/4″

1. Fold Boho Blue card base on scoreline
2. Adhere 3 3/4″ x 5″ Boho Blue to 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White, then to card front
3. Adhere designer paper pieces to coordinating Basic White, then to card front
4. Die cut 2 1/2″ x 3″ Boho Blue with Hooray for Surprises Die (heart)
5. Stamp greeting with Night of Navy ink
6. Die cut 3 1/4″ Basic White with Thoughtful Expressions Die (approx 2 5/8″) — adhere to card front
7. Attach heart with Dimensionals
8. Add Iridescent Pearls

Bee My Valentine – Sweet as Honey card measurements:

Real Red — 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ — score at 4 1/4″
Basic Black — 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″; 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Daffodil Delight — 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
Basic White — 3 3/8″ x 4 5/8″; 2″ x 2 3/4″; 4″ x 5 1/4″ (inside)
Vellum — 2″ x 2″
Bee Mine Designer Paper – red flower — 3″ x 3″
Bee Mine Designer Paper — bees — 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Black & White 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon

1. Stamp the bee hive in the upper left corner of 3 3/8″ x 4 5/8″ Basic White with Memento ink
2. Color some openings with Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend.
3. Stamp greeting at bottom of Basic White with Memento
4. Adhere to Daffodil Delight, then Basic Black
5. Tie small bow on one side of ribbon, wrap above greeting and adhere ends to back of Basic Black
6. Attach to card front with Dimensionals
7. Punch red flower designer paper with 2 3/8″ Circle Punch
8. Punch bee designer paper and 2 3/4″ Basic Black with 2″ Circle Punch
9. Adhere designer papers to card front and attach Basic Black circle with Dimensionals
10. Stamp bee wings on Vellum with Memento — punch out with Bee Builder Punch
11. Stamp bee on 2″ x 2 3/4″ Basic White with Daffodil Delight ink, then stamp stripes and face with Memento over Daffodil Delight, punch out bee
12. Adhere wings to back of bee, then attach bee with Dimensionals
13. Add Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots – Yellow to card front
14. Stamp bee hive in upper left corner of 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White — color with Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend and adhere inside card

Thoughtful Moments & Adoring Hearts Hybrid Embossing Folders

Last night’s Facebook Live featured the Thoughtful Moments & Adoring Hearts Hybrid Embossing Folders while making a card and home decor piece for Valentine’s Day.  What is a Hybrid Embossing Folder?  They allow you to add ink, emboss and cut your cardstock all at one time, they are amazing.

The card front is embossed with the Adoring Hearts Emboss Folder — no ink or die-cutting for this.  I used the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder for the greeting.  It’s so fun, just add ink over the words with the new brayer, put the matching die over the words, lay cardstock down and run through embossing machine.  Then use just the dies to cut the word outlines again with no ink or embossing.  When you layer the words and cardstock you get this fun shadow look.  There are 10 different greetings in this embossing folder/die set.

Next, I shared this adorable home decor piece that is perfect to start your Valentine decorating.  I die-cut hearts from the Sale-a-Bration Most Adored Designer Paper and added smaller Flirty Flamingo hearts behind them.  The LOVE YOU sentiment is one of the 10 greetings in the Thoughtful Moments embossing folder/die.  It’s so sweet and definitely helps me get ready to decorate.
