The Weather — that’s all we talk about

The weather — it seems that’s all we talk about lately.  Who’s ready for summer temps and the beach?  I have a warm weather card for you today.  I’ve been working with the stamp sets that are retiring soon and Beach Happy is one set I haven’t used very much.  I cased this card from my sister, Tina, with just some small adjustments.  As you probably know by now, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay are my favorite colors.  They work perfect for this card along with Calypso Coral, definitely summer here.

Beach Happy Stamp Set, Seaside Embossing Folder, Retiring List, Summer, Beach, Stamp with Peggy
The Seaside Embossing Folder gives the look of waves on the Bermuda Bay cardstock.  Don’t you just love the stripes on the beach chair.  I used Stampin’ Blends to color the umbrella — outline each section with the darker and color in with the lighter color.  Wishing You Sunny Days is a perfect greeting these days — we’ve have a lot of gloom and rain in the Midwest.

Here’s hoping to change the weather talk to lots of sunshine and warmer temps.

Here’s a picture of my mom and I.
She is the most amazing woman I know.
There is no one more caring, kind and loving in the world than mom.
She is always there for me and my siblings, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Happy Mother’s Day Mom!!!

Tea Together Tea Bag Holder for Mother’s Day

Today I’m sharing an adorable tea bag holder using the Tea Together stamp set and coordinating Tea Time Dies.  This is a perfect little gift for Mother’s Day.   Simply tuck a Starbucks card and a tea bag inside for a quick, easy project.

I cased this project from Shelli Gardner, Stampin’ Up!’s co-founder.  Shelli had a card similar to this and I thought it was adorable so I turned it into a tea bag holder.

Tea Together Stamp Set, Tea Time Framelits, Tea Bag Holder, Mother's Day, Stamp with Peggy

For this Tea Together tea bag holder, I used Powder Pink cardstock (retiring) with Smoky Slate accent and Shimmery White for the Stitched Shape Circle.  The tea cup is stamped with Memento ink and colored with Smoky Slate Combo Stampin’ Blends.  The flower is stamped on Shimmery White cardstock and colored with Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend and Light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend, then cut out with the framelits.  Then add some Wink of Stella to the flower to give it some added sparkle.  To close the holder, I used the Petal Pink/Whisper White Ribbon — wrap around the tea bag holder and tie a bow.  Next you’ll add the Stitched Shape Circle with dimensionals — I put a dimensional on the top, bottom and both sides — this helps hold the ribbon in place.

What a great way to say Happy Mother’s Day to your mom, daughter or friends.
