Make a Wish For My Birthday

Saturday was my birthday!!!  It was also my Stampin’ Up! anniversary – yup, my starter kit paperwork was approved on April 6th, 2003.  I have been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator for 15 years already – and no, I’m not  telling how old I am.

The Birthday Bash designer paper helped pick the color combo of Melon Mambo and Lemon Lime Twist. Are you going to miss Lemon Lime Twist when it’s gone?  I know I will.  That’s right, it is one of the 2017-2019 In Colors that will be gone at the end of May or even before if they sell out.  I think this color will sell out quickly so stock up on the cardstock and ink refill before they are gone.

A fun fold card was perfect to let the designer paper and color combo show through.  This is one of my favorite fun fold cards.  The card features the Life is Grand stamp set?  It has become one of my all time favorites — I love the script fonts in this set.  I think it is a MUST HAVE set.

The title for this post is Make a Wish For My Birthday because I’m giving away some birthday presents.  All you have to do is leave a comment below and tell me what you like most about this card and I’ll mail you a little present.  That’s pretty simple, right — let’s see how many presents I will have to send out.

All That You Are

The All That You Are stamp set is a “hider” in the Occasions Catalog.  Have you seen it?  It’s on the very first page of the catalog.  I love the greeting “Flowers Bloom All For You” — isn’t that sweet.  It works for birthdays or just because cards.

We stamped the greeting first in the lower corner — this gave us enough room to stamp the flower.  The flowers and leaves are colored with Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends (light and dark) and the leaves are Granny Apple Green (light and dark).  A bow was tied using the Grapefruit Grove 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon and attached with a Mini Glue Dot.

Now are you ready for the inside?
Remember, I love fun folds.
We did do one of these a couple of weeks ago, not sure if I shared it yet though.

Look at all the fun flowers blooming inside the card.
How was that done?

Easy, we used a 1″ x 8 1/2″ piece of designer paper, fold in half and then fold each end again (meet straight edge to folded edge).  I used Tear & Tape on each short end to be sure it holds tight inside the card.
Attach one short side to card front about 1/8″ away from the edge, fold strip up and close card to attach to the back of the card.

Now just stamp the little flowers and punch out with 1 1/2″ Circle Punch,
color and attach to designer paper strip.  Adorable.

I am going to send this card to a special someone.
Leave me a comment who you think should get this card and why.
I’ll mail it to one lucky person.

May Basket with Butterfly Gala

In April we start planning for May Baskets and I have a May Basket with Butterfly Gala bundle.  This basket would work for a little Easter treat but I really love the idea of a May basket.

My daugther, Katie, made this cute mini basket for one of our Cabin Fever treats.

I loved it so I made a bigger version using the Happiness Blooms Designer Paper.

Here’s a comparison of both baskets.

So, how do you make it — quite easy.

Attach the small flaps to the inside so it looks like this.

Next, wrap Tear & Tape around the block like above.

Add Tear & Tape down one short side (see picture above)

Start wrapping designer paper around the base — start in the middle, not even with one edge.

You will overlap the two short edges, then……..

Flatten the edges lightly, and use the 1/”2 circle punch to create the opening for the ribbon.

Here’s what your box/basketball looks like — SO FUN!!

I decorated the front by cutting a Whisper White label using the Wonderful Romance Framelit and stamp the greeting.  Then on scrap Whisper White, stamp the butterflies with Memento and Calypso Coral and punch out.  Attach the butterflies with Dimensionals and attach the label to the front of the basket with Dimensionals.
