Summer Days in August

It’s almost the middle of August and that means schools are gearing up for another year, but before we give in to that we can still enjoy the summer weather and time spent outside.  My August scrapbook pages are ready to add those pictures.  I used Daffodil Delight for the base — it reminds me of the sun and Bermuda Bay is perfect for the water and sky, right and then Black for the picture mats!!  I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set with great messages, a lawn chair and a summer beverage to enjoy.

Here is the first page — May all your tomorrows be as happy as today seemed to be the perfect saying for this month’s theme.

The second page gives more mats for the summer pictures and a panel to remind us to relax and enjoy the moment — just breathe.  I used the Stamparatus to help line up and stamp the beach chair and then of course I had to add the glass of lemonade or whatever your favorite summer time beverage is.

Nature’s Poem Makes Great Fall Cards

The weather definitely says it is still summer but I am looking ahead to fall and those cool, crisp days.  Fall is definitely my favorite time of year.  The Nature’s Poem Suite is fabulous for helping with that fall look.  For this card I used the Nature’s Poem Designer Paper — this one has a wood grain texture to it in Cajun Craze.  The designer paper is attached to Soft Suede cardstock that has been embossed with the Subtles Embossing Folder (love it).  Then I took a piece of the Soft Suede Twine from the Nature’s Poem Twine Pack and split it into three pieces for a softer look (I did keep the three pieces together with a knot in the center).  I cut a Pearlized Doily in half and attached with Mini Glue Dots.  You Are Wonderful is stamped with Soft Suede, for the leaves I used Cajun Craze ink that is stamped off each time, then attach the layers to card front with dimensionals.

Nature’s Poem Twine Pack – Soft Suede – 6″ – separate into 3 strands
Soft Suede — 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″

Little Elephant Thank You

Oh My Gosh – the Little Elephant Stamp Set is so adorable.  This is a stamp set that I kept passing by in the Annual Catalog — it’s in the baby section and I just didn’t think I needed it — I WAS WRONG.  I absolutely love the plaid elephants and all the little pieces in the set and there is a coordinating punch to help punch it out and punch the ear separately so you can add even more dimension to your projects.  This card is a Thank You card but change the words and it quickly becomes a Welcome Little One card – change to pinks and you are ready for a new baby girl.

I love how this card turned out using my favorite colors Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay.  The eye is a pearl that I colored with a Sharpie marker (there are Black Stampin’ Blends coming in the Holiday Catalog – YAY).

Bermuda Bay — 3 3/4″ x 5″
Smoky Slate — 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″

Bermuda Bay — cut out with Layering Squares Framelits
Whisper White — cut out with Stitched Shapes Framelits – stamp plaid bottom with Coastal Cabana and Thank You balloon with Bermuda Bay
Whisper White — scrap — stamp elephant with Smoky Slate and punch out
Basic Gray — scrap — stamp elephant with Smoky Slate and punch out only the ear
