Peaceful Reflection Hummingbirds

Are there times you look at a stamp set and wonder what to do with it?  At On Stage in April I won the Peaceful Reflection stamp set.  Getting a FREE stamp set is always a wonderful thing but I looked at the images and thought YIKES, what do I do with this.
Peaceful Reflection Stamp Set
Well, turns out it is quite a wonderful set.  The lines images put together create some wonderful pictures.  There are water rings and different flower petals and leaves, a dragonfly and the inside of the leaves looks like a hummingbird.
This card was a swap from our recent Demo Make & Take.  It is so adorable.

Peaceful Reflection, Just For You, Hummingbirds
Check it out – the inside of the leaves stamp is turned sideways a little and the the partial flower is stamped for the hummingbird wings — rhinestones were added for the eyes.  This is a very sweet and simple card but definitely showcases this stamp set which really is fun to work with.

You Are Wonderful String Art

Oh My Gosh – string art technique is the newest craze.  I’ve seen it all over Pinterest and I just had to give it a shot.  It is so much fun — messy, but fun.  I had a blast seeing all the different images you get with a simple piece of Baker’s Twine.

String Art, Rooted in Nature, Techniques
The supplies are minimal — cardstock, Baker’s Twine, Ink Refill and then any embellishments you wish.  You dip the Baker’s Twine into a puddle of ink refill until the strip is all covered.  Next open an old book or catalog to center, lay Whisper White cardstock down, put tinted Baker’s Twine down in random pattern, lay another Whisper White cardstock over string, close book putting pressure on it and pull string out.  You can do this 2-3 times without putting more ink on the twine.

This card was the second pulling, which is my personal preference.  I stamped You Are Wonderful from Rooted in Nature and tied a small bow in center of 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and center across lower portion of card.

How Beautiful A Day Can Be When Kindness Touches It

Enjoy Life – that is something we each should do every day.  Enjoy Life is a new stamp set in the Annual Catalog.  It was designed by Connie Fitzgerald with Stampin’ Up! design artists when Connie hit her $1,000,000 in sales.  The images are amazing — a bike rider which is especially great for masculine cards — a person reaching for the sky for great backgrounds and this pretty wildflowers and butterflies for so many different techniques.  For this card I used the lacy image from Touches of Texture stamp set to give the background a little texture.  I used Shimmery White cardstock and added a wash of Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green.  Once that dried I used Memento ink to stamp the beautiful phrase, flowers and butterflies.  I just love this color combination – you will definitely see this one again.
