Southern Serenade and Brusho Watercolor

One final Brusho technique card for you.  I love this look and it was very simple to do.  We started with Watercolor Paper — we sprinkled Brusho Crystal Colors on the Watercolor Paper (red on bottom, orange in middle and yellow on top).  Then we used an Aqua Painter to spread the color with quick swooshing motions.
If it wasn’t as dark as you want, just sprinkle a little more Brusho and blend the color some more.  Let it dry and then we stamped Thank You and the floral image with Memento ink.  Both images are from the Southern Serenade stamp set.

Southern Serenade Stamp Set, Brusho Crystal Color, Watercolor Technique, Thank You
Measurements:
Calypso Coral – 5 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ — score at 4 1/4″
Basic Gray – 3″ x 5 1/4″
Peekaboo Peach – 2 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
Watercolor Paper – 2 5/8″ x 4 7/8″

I love how different the card turns out each and every time.  Here is almost everyone’s cards — look at all the variances – some are subtle, some are bright, some have narrow watercolor, others filled the whole page.  I love them all.

Beautiful Day Brusho Painted Butterfly

Today I have another fun Brusho Crystal Colour technique for you.  This I used the bold butterfly image from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set and embossed the butterfly on Watercolor Paper with Whisper White ink and White Embossing Powder.  Next I used three clear blocks and sprinkled Blue Brusho on one block, Yellow Brusho on a second block and Mossy Green Brusho on the third block.  I used an Aqua Painter to add water to the Blue crystals to get a watery paint and painted some of the butterfly wings — clean Aqua Painter when finished so you don’t mix colors.  Then I repeated the same technique with the Mossy Green crystals and colored in more open spaces — clean Aqua Painter again before repeating with the yellow.  The butterfly is bright and vibrant.
Always start with a lighter coat, you can add more color, it’s harder to take color away once you have too much.  I also “painted” a little blue around the body and antennas so they stand out a little.

I added the Crushed Curry bow under the butterfly.  I stamped the Happy Birthday phrases with Memento ink.
