Be Mine

I love making Valentine’s cards.
I don’t send out as many as I should.
Maybe that’s a goal for each of us to set this year.
Mail out FIVE Valentine’s Day cards.
They don’t have to say love…..
They can be Thinking of You, Missing You, I Care.
This will be the first card I mail out.
This card features the Bloomin’ Love stamp set
and the Love Blossoms designer paper stack.
Bloomin' LoveThe card base is Blushing Bride cut at 5 1/2″ x 7″ — scores at 4 1/4″.
On the right side of the card I added a strip of Early Espresso
card stock (1 1/4″ x 5 1/4″) and a piece of the designer paper
that is 1 1/8″ x 5 1/8″.
I also added a panel of Early Espresso card stock to the
front of the card and then a piece of Crumb Cake
that was embossed with the Heart embossing folder.
I stamped the heart image from Bloomin’ Love with
Blushing Bride ink on Whisper White card stock.
I tied a bow in the center of the 1/4″ Cotton Early Espresso ribbon
and attached to the back of the Whisper White piece.
Then layers on Blushing Bride and Early Espresso.
This layer is attached to the card front with
dimensionals but don’t put dimensionals on the
right of the piece or you will stick your
card shut — that just wouldn’t work.

You’re So Lovely

You’re So Lovely is another new stamp set in the
Occasions Catalog.  There are some great
images in this set.
For this card I used Smoky Slate and Pink Pirouette.
I love the softness off this color combination.
You're So Lovely
The card base is Smoky Slate.
I used the Sale-a-Bration Botanical Garden Vellum Designer Paper Stack.
I cut two strips 1″ x 5 1/2″ and adhered on each side of the card.
See those soft, white looking flowers — that’s the vellum paper.
Next is a layer of Pink Pirouette cardstock.
I made a mask by punching a 2″ hole in a piece of scrap cardstock.
I laid this cardstock over a Whisper White piece and
sponged Pink Pirouette ink in the hold.  Remove
the mask and stamp the circle image with Smoky Slate ink
three or four times to give the wreath look.
I used Memento for the greeting.
I stamped the stars in Smoky Slate and then Pink Pirouette.
I took a piece of the Silver Thread and wrapped
around the Whisper White cardstock a few time
and taped the loose ends to the back of the card.
I took a second piece of the Silver thread
and folded it in half twice — slip it under the
other thread and tie a knot — trim the ends.

Balloon Fun

Do you remember the wedding bell decorations "in the old days"?
I know the hall for my wedding reception had the
bells that came flat and you opened them up
with all the little honeycombs inside to
create a nice full bell.
The Occasions Catalog has a new item called
Honeycomb Embellishments.
They are like those wedding bells but they
are little circles.
Check out today's card — I added that
embellishment for the balloon.
Now I have a 3-D balloon on my card.

Honeycomb EmbellishmentMy card base is Mint Macaron cardstock with a layer
of Melon Mambo and Basic Black.
I used the It's My Party designer paper and
added three strips to the Basic Black layer.
Tip Top Taupe cardstock was cut 1 7/8" x 4 1/4"
and punched at the top with the
Ornate Tag Topper Punch.
I stamped the balloon from a Sale-a-Bration
stamp set Honeycomb Happiness with
Memento ink.  I colored the bow with the
Melon Mambo marker.  This tag
was attached to a larger Basic Black tag.
I used the Melon Mambo twine from the
Baker's Twine Combo Pack which is
new in the Occasions Catalog.
Then I added the Mint Macaron
Honeycomb Embellishment.
They have adhesive on them so they
stick down very nice.

You have to give these cuties a try.
